SSC issues notice about OTR in ssc.gov.in and CHSL notification and live photograph

SSC CHSL 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (SSC CHSL 2024) on the new official website – ssc.gov.in. Although the old SSC portal – ssc.nic.in will also remain accessible, the Commission has asked the candidates to generate the one-time registration (OTR) on the new website. The SSC OTR done on the old website will not be considered valid in the new SSC portal.

As per the SSC calendar released earlier, the SSC CHSL 2024 notification and application will be released today, April 2 and candidates will have time till May 1 to register for the exam. SSC CHSL will be held in June-July 2024.

Unlike previous years, where an already captured photograph was uploaded, the SSC application module on the new website will have a provision to capture live photographs of the candidates.

“This is a change from the earlier dispensation wherein the candidates were required to upload a photograph already captured. In the new application module, live photographs of the candidates will be captured for which either a webcam on a computer/ laptop or an Android device can be used,” an SSC notification issued in this regard said.

The Commission has also issued guidelines to take photographs while filling out the registration form on ssc.gov.in

Candidate should find a place with good light and a plain background.

— They have to ensure that the camera is at eye level before taking the photo.

— Position yourself directly in front of the webcam and look straight ahead.

— Candidates shouldn’t wear a cap, mask or glasses/spectacles while taking a live photo.

The candidates may complete the one-time registration (OTR) as soon as possible well in advance before the publication of the notice for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2024, the official SSC notification read.
